These terms are the agreement between you and [PaddIQ operator legal name] (ABN [ABN]) ("PaddIQ", "we", "us") for using the PaddIQ app and website at paddiqag.com. By creating an account or using PaddIQ you agree to them. If you are signing up for a farming business, you confirm you are allowed to agree on its behalf.
PaddIQ is farm-management software for broadacre cropping: paddock records, machinery and input costs, planning, budgets, maps and imagery, and connections to services such as John Deere Operations Center.
PaddIQ is early-access software that changes often. Features may be added, changed or removed, and things will occasionally break. We tell you about significant changes in the app.
You need an account to use PaddIQ. Keep your login details private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your login, including anything done by people you invite to your farm as members.
You can invite workers, agronomists or family to your farm and set what they can see or edit. You are responsible for who you invite and what you let them do.
Everything you put into PaddIQ — paddocks, records, prices, machinery, invoices, photos, imported data — belongs to you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
You give us permission to store, process, back up and display your data only so we can provide PaddIQ to you and the people you invite. You can export your data at any time and ask us to delete your account and its data.
PaddIQ works local-first: your data lives in the browser on each device you use and syncs to our cloud so your other devices and members see it. Keep your own backups of anything critical — see section 8.
When you connect John Deere Operations Center, you authorise PaddIQ to read the data you approve on John Deere's consent screen (fields, boundaries, operations, equipment, map layers). You sign in on John Deere's own page — PaddIQ never sees, stores or asks for your John Deere password. Your use of Operations Center stays governed by John Deere's own terms, and by connecting you agree to use the John Deere data in PaddIQ in line with those terms. You can disconnect at any time from the John Deere page in PaddIQ (or revoke access in Operations Center); after that we stop reading new data and only keep what was already imported into your records.
We never use information received from John Deere to send you or anyone else marketing you have not asked for. PaddIQ is not affiliated with or endorsed by Deere & Company; John Deere names and marks belong to Deere & Company.
Satellite imagery contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (© European Union), accessed through public catalogues and provided as-is. Basemaps are provided by Esri and OpenStreetMap contributors under their own terms.
Some features read documents for you — supplier invoices, statements, price sheets, product labels, part boxes and trial reports. When you use them, the image or text you upload is sent to an AI service (currently Anthropic's Claude API) to be read, and the result is shown to you for review before anything is saved.
Only upload documents you are entitled to share. Do not upload other people's personal information unless you have their permission. AI reading is not perfect: check what it read, especially prices, quantities and pack sizes, before you save.
Ask PaddIQ answers questions about your farm. Each question, and the farm records it needs to answer it (the same figures the screens show), are sent to the same AI service for that answer. Any change it proposes is shown to you to approve before it is written. Questions and a short preview of each answer are logged so wrong answers can be found and fixed.
PaddIQ's calculations, recommendations and forecasts — fertiliser rates, nutrient balances, yield estimates, costs, margins, spray timings, imagery interpretation — are decision-support tools built from your own data and published references. They are not agronomic, financial, legal or safety advice.
Withholding periods, plantback intervals, registrations and label details shown in PaddIQ are read from the APVMA public register and published references, and applied to the products, rates and dates in YOUR records. They are only as right as those records and the register on the day. A 'clear' shown in PaddIQ is a prompt to check, not a certification: you must confirm withholding periods, plantbacks and registered uses against the current product label before you harvest, graze, sell grain or sow. PaddIQ and its operator accept no liability for loss arising from data entered incorrectly, from records that are incomplete, or from reliance on these markers instead of the label.
Always confirm product rates and uses against the current registered label and, where you would normally do so, with your agronomist or adviser. You are responsible for every decision you make on your farm. We are not liable for crop, financial or other outcomes of decisions made using PaddIQ.
PaddIQ is currently provided without charge during early access. When paid plans are introduced we will tell you the price and terms at least 30 days in advance, and you will be able to stop using PaddIQ before any charge applies.
Once paid plans exist: fees are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies; you will receive a tax invoice for each billing period; subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before it ends, and we will remind you before any annual renewal. You can cancel at any time from Settings and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. If we raise a price we will give you at least 30 days' notice and the right to cancel before it takes effect. Refunds are provided where the Australian Consumer Law requires them (see section 10) and otherwise at our discretion.
We work hard to keep PaddIQ available and your data safe, using reputable hosting (currently Vercel and Supabase) with access controls and encrypted connections. We cannot promise PaddIQ will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for outages caused by your internet connection, your device or third-party services.
Because PaddIQ stores data in your browser first, clearing your browser data before it has synced can lose recent changes. Export important records regularly (Settings → Export).
Do not use PaddIQ to break the law, to access data that is not yours, to interfere with the service or other users, or to reverse-engineer or resell it. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
Beyond those guarantees, and where the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from PaddIQ is limited, at our choice, to re-supplying the service or refunding the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, while PaddIQ is free, $100), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, crop, data or business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You can stop using PaddIQ and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can end the agreement if you seriously breach these terms and do not fix the breach within 14 days of us telling you, or if we stop providing PaddIQ — in which case we will give you at least 30 days' notice and time to export your data, and refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
We may update these terms to reflect changes in PaddIQ, the law or how we operate. Changes that only clarify or are in your favour take effect when we update the date at the top. For any other change we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email and ask you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in; if you do not agree, you can stop using PaddIQ, export your data and receive a refund of any prepaid fees for the unused period. A change never applies to a dispute that arose before it.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts of Western Australia have jurisdiction.
